Climbing in Sri Lanka is not for the uninitiated – developed climbing sites are few and far between, and the sports climbing wall in Colombo is closed (temporarily, but indefinitely!).

Novices and amateurs looking for top-rope climbing have very limited opportunities – one of the best choices would be on Bambarakanda, home to Sri Lanka’s highest waterfall, located approx. 160 km from Colombo.
